AZD-0156 (AZD0156)
ATMK (Ataxia Telangiectasia Mutated Kinase), a serine/threonine protein kinase, is upregulated in a variety of cancer cell types, and activated in response to DNA damage and plays a key role in DNA-strand repair. AZD-0156 (AZD0156) is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibiting the kinase activity of ATM and ATM-mediated signaling, preventing DNA damage checkpoint activation, disrupting DNA damage repair, inducing tumor cell apoptosis, and leading to cell death in ATM-overexpressing tumor cells. In addition, AZD0156 also sensitizes tumor cells to chemo- and radiotherapy.
